54. Dizziness

One day I was struck by severe vertigo that lasted for about three weeks. It was accompanied by a loss of balance and general weakness. I felt worse and worse, until finally I could not walk on my own and could barely stand on my feet. With difficulty, I took on only the most necessary tasks – basic shopping, walking the dog, etc. The doctor to whom I turned, recommended a series of tests and consultations with specialists. The results of these were good and no cause for these ailments was given.

As usual, I sought help from you, Lord Jesus. During this time, I twice asked for intercessory prayer in a prayer group of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement. I also participated in several healing prayer Masses.

One day while going to morning Mass, I was pondered, in spirit, a Bible passage ( Mathew 9.21) which tells of a woman being healed by Jesus of long-term ailments. This severely sick woman said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I will be made well.”

I arrived at the church a half hour before the start of Mass, so I had some time to spiritually prepare for the Eucharist through prayer of praise and thanksgiving. During the Mass, we prayed for the intercession of St. Padre Pio.

Immediately, following the Mass, I felt an evident improvement. I could walk normally and barely felt any dizziness. I felt really good.

The next day I went again to church to receive Holy Communion. This time, after I accepted the Eucharist, I felt even better than the day before. I can say more- I had not felt so wonderful in a long time and I was able to perform all my duties.

Thank You, my Jesus, for everything!
